Hi! My name is Adriana, and I'm a character designer, storyteller, college professor.

My work is a constant search to create meaningful stories and compelling characters with a mission or a cause, that can reach out to an audience and provoke thought, feelings, or inspiration.

Having a passion for advocating for those without agency to advocate for themselves, much of my personal work is centered around animal rights.

I do not limit my work to one specific type of medium.  Instead, I like to explore mediums that fit the specific feeling or message I’d like to evoke, whether it’s through digital character designs, watercolor illustration, coffee paintings, sculpture, or storyboarding for animation.

Each design or piece I create is inspired by observations of nature, human behavior and by my own experiences.

As a character designer and storyteller, I also have a passion for research. In order to create stylized characters that don’t exist and still make them believable, it’s important to know the rules in order to break them.  This is one of the reasons why I’m fascinated by the tangible (human and animal anatomy), as well as the intangible (psychology and behavior). When solid, believable designs are paired with meaningful stories, the chances to connect with an audience are magnified.
